Here's something interesting.
There's a guy who's posted episodes of Channel 4's 'The Tube' to YouTube in recent weeks.
These appear to be 'unedited rushes' of the episodes (together with time clocks etc.), so contain more footage than the standard episodes.
This means that, in respect of the 21/03/86 appearance by New Order, we actually have some additional footage than what was broadcast.
Don't get too excited; it's just an extra minute of 'Broken Promise' after the credits roll and the 'Tyne Tees' logo appears. Weirdly, the track still isn't complete.
Nothing Earth-shattering, but it is 'technically' previously unseen TV footage of the band in action from their golden period.
So if you fancy seeing an extra 60 seconds of Bernard's splendid yellow jumper, here you go:
Also, if you're interested, the complete episode that was broadcast from The Haçienda on 27/01/84 has been uploaded, including the Wilson, Morley, Hook interview and Bernard's appearance as part of the Factory All-Stars. Note, if you're desperate to see Madonna gyrate and mime in her 'legendary first UK performance'
, that's included too:
Finally, there's another New Order related item at around 22 minutes on this show (23/12/83). It's an interview with Arthur Baker and includes the 'Confusion' video. Most of the rest of the episode is based around New York nightlife, I think.
