Interesting, but I really don't 'get' The Killers; they have a lot of songs that are 'nearly very good' but end up usually in the 'disappointingly average' bracket. I don't know why Barney is so keen on them :/

I don't think Barney is fond of their music any more than he is of Brandon Flowers.
Early Killers did sound a bit like NO, I mean, you could see the inspiration in many tracks, specially some lesser known ones.

The only Killers track that sounds like New Order is "Spaceman". Ok, maybe "Shadowplay" too. But that's only if you disregard the vocals. Their earlier, synth oriented tracks tended to sound more like Duran Duran and their later ones favour Pet Shop Boys.

I guess that's why he joined them on stage, then? Clown

Cool

I don't so much not get them as not like them, I am amazed they are still around actually.

was into the killers for a while, (2 weeks in 2001)...
file away with kings of leon, vaguely interesting , but have 1 hit that coked up morons like on a saturday night.
they don't really sound like NO, but if you can get your hero to sing with you , fair do's
if suede could get david bowie to sing with them every other week ,would show how mediocre they are.

to misquote electronic "they love him more than he loves them"

The Killers probably asked him to guest at their concerts. You can't exactly knock the guy for not turning down an invitation by accomplished musicians who happen to admire your work.
