Monaco - You Should Be DancingWhat's most surprising is that it's a great cover; love Hooky's voice.

I knew about it and yes it is a great track, but IMHO everything Monaco did was great. They should make a come-back. Edited by user 16 June 2012 10:42:45(UTC)

It was the last thing they did for Polydor if I remember correctly. Then came the Chrysalis/Papillon period and second LP wilderness. Pop Fact: of all the covers done for that Bee Gees tribute album the recently deceased Robin Gibb allegedly declared Monaco's effort to be his favourite (at the time). It's not a bad version by all accounts and Hooky's low vocal rumble suits nicely. I remember buying it and being fucking horrified by most of the "artists" on it. The curse of a collector... I mean Dana fucking International? Edited by user 21 June 2012 11:26:29(UTC)

Fanx, heard about this at the time but it's somehow always eluded me. Not a bad cover actually!

Never ever previously bothered even checking this one out - despite myself being born in virtually the same place as the Brothers Gibb - so what a pleasant surprise to hear this! Not the most brilliant cover I've heard, but then it's nowhere near as bad as I feared either (which explains why I purposely let it slip under my radar all this time). I literally stumbled across this CD yesterday in, um Poundland. Their CD's are stickered "Pre-owned, fully refurbished, quality guaranteed", which I think means that someone checked that the disc wasn't knackered then whacked some cellophane on it to make it look new. I was cringing as I approcahed the cashier, and couldn't look her in the eye as I paid for the thing. Got rid of some small change though! The price for this piece o' crap is surprisingly high on Discogs, presumably because it's out of print now and the Monaco and Orb (collaborating with Robbie Williams?!) tracks may be considered collectors items. Having said that, it's pretty cheap on Amazon and ebay. Edited by user 15 July 2012 03:06:23(UTC)
