Has anyone caught the TV show Scorpion? At the end there is a very Peter Hook bass sounding piece of music. I've looked over trying to find out if it was something he composed or played or a snippet from a track, etc. It's not New Order that I recognize. I actually had blown it off as a lark but a recent episode "Talismans" ended with a pretty decent acoustic cover of Love Vigilantes, ( I didn't catch who performed it either).

What, this theme tune?

I don't think the show has made it outside of the USA, but I guess it doesn't need to in order to answer your question.
I'm pretty sure that if Hooky was involved, he would have made us aware on his own website or twitter account. As far as I know, he hasn't.

If you read the youtube comments underneath the clip above, Brian Tyler gets mentioned. A look at Mr Tyler's IMDB page would appear to back that up.

On a slightly separate note, I was watching BBC's Panorama show about Apple's broken promises this week, and in the first three minutes we had one Fatboy Slim track and two Daft Punk tracks. Probably a reflection of the taste of the 'music guy' for that programme.

Similarly, it sounds like Mr Tyler is a NO fan hence Love Vig and a theme tune that sounds a bit Peter Hook-ish. it's funny how these music specialists for tv and film often ending up just using tunes that they happen to like.

There are a couple of acoustic versions of Love Vigilantes floating around on the internet. Which version was in Scorpion? Well according to this website that I have just found now, it was Iron & Wine's version.

Now, having put in most of the work on this one Brian Barker, what do I get as a prize?

Every so often, some New Order tune or other pops up on BBC. Whoever selects some of the background music for various programmes seems to be a fan. There was a documentary on the BBC featuring the Harrier Jump-Jet 10 or more years ago and the intro piece featured "Procession"!
