As I'm stuck in the shitty grey UK for this Paris gig (unlike 4 years ago!) I'll be gagging for reports from those who are there, hence creating this thread!
Keep us updated lads and lasses!

Great set list. A real treat playing lonsemome tonight sounded great on you tube. Really looking forward to the gigs in Liverpool and Manchester. Would like a new order rather than a joy division encore and replace Blue Monday. Maybe some good news : The TV channel "Arte" have filmed the show http://info.arte.tv/fr/le-grand-come-back-sur-scene-de-new-orderThis Wednesday, November 4, New Order began in Paris his new world tour, which will pass through Berlin on November 11, and then take them to Hong Kong and Houston, Texas in December. The stakes are high: since except for a few dates in 2011, assigned to the classic of their repertoire, this is the first time the British group invests the scene with new music - those of Music Complete, the album released in late September - and a refurbished line-up. Tom Chapman, the new bassist, overcomes alienation and spurts of gall Peter Hook, largely responsible for the sound of Joy Division and New Order (the martial bass, unsurpassed). Complete Music also marks the return of Gillian Gilbert on keyboards, who for more than ten years, had withdrawn from the group in order to care for her daughter seriously hill. It is precisely the coming back Gillian and Tom who promoted the young interviewed by ARTE Journal, one hour before going on stage. Parisian date ARTE was able to film exclusively. This gig in Paris was brilliant. Obviously, is impossible attend all expectations and wishful thinkings in one hour and half, but I loved a lot this concert. Very surprised with "Lonesome Tonight" and the new arrangements of BLT and WFTSC based on Richard X Remix and Planet Funk Remix. And the new songs sounds really good live. A promising tour. It was very nice to see the Vikings there too. Norbert, Nick, Al, Tim, "the-guy-with-the-nice-hat" and others... Special thanks to Al and Nick by the badge. |

Love the Richard X treatment of BLT, always a favourite mix that, and it's about time they 'rebooted' that tune live. Same goes for WFTSC - the original didn't work very well live, this mix is a massive improvement.

I had the opportunity to see them play it live at least a couple of times, and the Planet Funk mix just deadens the song's regal character. It even appears that Bernard nearly misses his cue to sing as the song just drones along. Although that album gets a lot of criticism, the title track is as good as anything on Music Complete. Certainly the last great track featuring Hooky. Although I doubt it is their intention, performing an arrangement that ignores his fantastic work on that track probably twists him up even more than having Chappy play it.

...but I do like the Richard X version of B.L.T. That track must always remain in the set (along with Temptation, and probably Your Silent Face), but it was well overdue for a refresh.
I was sort of hoping for a reset back to the instrumental outro days of yore, but like it all the same.

Yeah it looked like Bernard was a bit lost in the music and was swaying around to the tune when he suddenly realises it was the bit where he has to start singing and ends up singing the first few lines a bit nervy as a result i thought.I agree the original version is one of NO's best songs ever and could easily compete with the songs on Music Complete or even Technique.Going with the Planet Funk version for this tour is to be commended for at least, along with the Richard X version of BLT, they are mixing things up a bit but i think the original version of WFTSC is better live.Saw them do it at Brixton 2012 second night and it was a great moment. But hey, at least they are trying new things, different versions.I can't knock em for that Edited by user 07 November 2015 06:07:10(UTC)

Just played the clip from Paris of WFTSC again and i liked it a lot more than the first time. That repeating synth riff is grand and then around 5 and a half minutes in goes into the synth melody from the original version.Seems slightly different in that sense to what i recall of the recorded version of the Planet Funk mix but it is a long time since i gave it a spin.
