For those that may not have bought the box set (got mine this afternoon), and also for those who'd like to hear loads of other rare and classic New Order tracks, I've just added all the Music Complete extended versions to the playlist of my New Order radio station at: https://www.radionomy.com/en/radio/neworder/index. Feel free to pop over and have a listen - tracks are played randomly, all taken from my (almost) complete New Order collection. Cheers Andy

THE GAME sounds fantastic! Thanks.
My thoughts about this being the sleeper track destined for single number 4 are growing stronger, knowing that it can be beefed up like this. The standard album version is too busy, this sounds SO much sparser yet stronger. LOVE IT.

Those drums at the end of Singularity... I wanted that to go on and on.
Intro to People is brilliant... this is really good stuff.
There are some strange jumps in the levels with these, is that Radionomy applying it's own compression and messing things up?

Many thanks!!!
I'm currently listening to "Superheated Extended" and they've mixed Barney's vocals much louder than Flowers' on the chorus lines which is a huge improvement over the original mix.

Thank you so much for doing this, it is very generous indeed of you. Had an email from Cathie at Warners today confirming the the digital coded will not be released for the rest of us, so only the lucky ones who can afford the box set will have access to these amazing extended tracks. Thanks again! :)

As there's so many people keen to hear these extended versions (which I think are all fantastic), I've altered the station playlist to continuously loop just the extended mixes for the next month or so - feel free to drop on over and hear them all at https://www.radionomy.com/en/radio/neworder/index. I'll return to the random selections of all New Order tracks in a few weeks, once you've all had a good chance to hear these great mixes! Cheers

Yes I def agree with you... after hearing the extended mixes, I find the standard mixes all sounded too busy. I find that almost every song has been enhanced with the extended mixes...thank god these are extended mixes, not some 90s hardcore nosebleed remixes |

Tell me if u think the same after listening to Academic extended mix - I hear bits of BLT-Lp version or 1963 synthbeat added onto the mix.... |

The songs get better after weeks of listens, then this, these are glorious . i remember vinyl and air pumps , cables as thick as thick things and corner baffles, and turntables of exquisite design but the cd is my format now.these remixes may just appear someday on cd. Or from I tunes?? Meanwhile the analog vinyl neworder sound is possibly a luxury I can and need to return to. Many thanks for these brilliant extras. |

Thanks so much Mr Discography for doing this - I imagine I'll still be waiting a while for my box set to make its way to Melbourne. Radionomy will tide me over nicely in the meantime. These mixes are in most cases terrific improvements on the originals. The Game and Academic in particular are magnificent. And that bass on People on the Highline - couldn't stop smiling when I heard how much it had been emphasised. Thanks again.
A question... every so often, a snippet of an instrumental track pops up between the extended album tracks. I know Elegia, but not the other one. Can anyone tell me what it is?

Cool. I am not buying this cos: 1. Pop stars make too much money anyway. 2. I can listen to 'em for free. 3. 65 quid could go to Oxfam, Amnesty or the pub. 4. I may be in the minority, but the novelty of length wore out after 'Electronic'. I actually think even Technique suffers from padding mid-second side. 5. 6. 7.

Many thanks for this, its great to hear these tracks. Being a bit of a pauper there is simply no way I could afford to buy the box set things so until someone kindly torrents them this is my best opportunity to hear them. Of course, if New Order want to head off the torrenters at the pass they could simply make them available to download individually but I guess that would upset the box set buyers.

The Peter Saville Show Soundtrack. Depending on which country you are in, every half hour you either get two minutes of ads, or two-minute excerpts of music (I cut the full length Elegia and Peter Saville Show Soundtrack up into two minute segments and it randomly picks one each time). Much more pleasing on the ears than the dull ads we get on the station here in the UK! So, how long should I stream only the extended versions...? I plan to go back to my full catalogue of 600+ New Order tracks that stream in random order, but how long would you guys like to only have these extended mixes on the playlist - and nothing else? Cheers

Fantastic to hear these extended versions, many thanks. Yesterday was the longest Friday, waiting to get home and listen. I would of course buy them yesterday, given the chance - whoever thought up this vinyl wheeze deserves a long spell in the naughty corner.

At first I was loving it, but then I realized that they removed the Blue Monday sounding lead synth melody . You can hear the melody at 2:01 on the original mix. Personally, I only like about half of them more than the originals (Plastic, Tutti Frutti, Nothing but a Fool, Unlearn This Hatred, Superheated) Nine and a half minutes of Restless is total overkill though, haha. I guess that's one advantage of being in Australia - I got to discover a new NO tune! Personally I would appreciate having just the extended versions on your station until my box set arrives. A couple of weeks I guess. Others may want to wait until there's a way they can reliably download the files. It looks like they are starting to show up on file sharing networks, so it might not be long at all.

Cheers Oh yay! Here in NZ we get those lovely little snippets, I was wondering how they counted as 'advertisments', guess we are indeed the lucky ones! Very welcome to hear the bits and pieces of The Peter Saville Show Soundtrack too, I'm not very familiar with it at all, so this is a nice introduction. If you could maybe stick with the extendeds until the end of November? That would be greatly appreciated, and I'll tell you what? I have now discovered The Best Radio Station In The Entire World so will be sticking with you no matter what the playlist! Some good rarities and treats in there I would imagine, can't wait! :)
