Managed to bag two for this and a friend also got a couple, so a small detachment of the East Yorkshire/Newcastle Order will be present.

Any suggestions for pubs round that way? Usually go to Britons, Rain Bar etc, but could do with a watering hole a bit closer to Granada...

The Britons is good. We'll doubtless be in the Sir Ralph Abercrombie, Nags Head & Rising Sun before the gig.

One big gripe about the MIF events is that the New Order Thursday 6th show clashes with Arcade Fire at the Castlefield Bowl.
I failed to get the AF ticket anyway, but when the extra tickets for the New Order MIF shows were released, I deliberately avoided the said date as I could not stand the thought that AF were playing right around the corner the very moment I was watching New Order at the Granada Studios (and vice versa for that matter) -- you know the feeling?
And here is my suggestion for those who attend the New Order gig tomorrow. As soon as the show finishes (around ten-ish), move on to the Castlefield Bowl, which takes only a few minutes' walk to get there. You may enjoy the last half an hour or so of the Arcade Fire performance albeit outside the venue. I remember, when I saw New Order there last year, many people were watching the stage from sideways on the balcony of the adjacent bar, enjoying the music, even if they couldn't see the band!

I caught Arcade Fire in Edinburgh, Belfast and Dublin the other day. They were every bit phenomenal.

Fantastic gig. Probably my favourite since at least the Apollo in '98, but maybe even Reading '93.

Setlist was, as far as I remember:

Elegia

Who's Joe?
Dream Attack
Disorder
Ultraviolence
Heart & Soul
All Day Long
Shellshock
Guilt Is a Useless Emotion
Subculture
Bizarre Love Triangle
Vanishing Point
Plastic

Your Silent Face
Decades

Subculture, Shellshock and Vanishing Points were particularly great, especially the latter two. Love that the band 'own' their history, playing songs I worried that they'd grown tired of (e. g. Shellshock, UV and Subculture).

Dream Attack and Vanishing Point are probably in my top 5 tracks, so was damn great to hear them.

Best gig I've been to in years.

I didn't get tickets.

I did get a pork pie.

Enjoyed the interview.

Intro soundscape sounded like a good idea to build the excitement.

Setlist makes me very envious.
