Yes, I noticed! It suited the scene well.
I got to see Alan Partridge's Scissored Isle on YouTube, recently, which was very funny. It was set in Manchester. Isolation and Temptation were played...

Looked up the episode on iPlayer after seeing this. I'm not really a fan of Dr Who these days and haven't been for quite some time. But LWTUA worked well with the scene. Ended up watching the whole episode and quite took to the new girl. I liked her.
LWTUA also featured in a scene in that other BBC series Silk starring Maxine Peake a few years back .

Anyone seen the Netflix's '13 Reasons Why' ?
Been on Netflix for a month but ignored it until a friend (who knows Im a NO/JD fan) alerted me.
LWTUA played in the first episode plus a scene with Clay (main character) in his friend, Tony in the car and there's a casssette with Joy Division handwritten on the cover.
Then in episode 4 (I think) Alex (a indie dude character with nose ring) was seen in his bedroom with a large Unknown Pleasures poster.
LWTUA was played again in another episode (cant remember which).
Ive only seen 6 episodes, have another 7 to go.
Many cool band's references scattered throughout - Bon Iver's & Arcade Fire's posters on wall were all I could remember.
Cheers! |

Great, I'll have a party last week. I have just finished watching acclaimed 2007 documentary 'Joy Division'. It is total and utter fucking shit. Just how much more wonga do these ''''''''''staunchly anti-commercial'''''''''' Mancs wanna suck from this poor sod's corpse? 'Yeah, in February 1979 we went to't chippie and Ian put mayonnaise on his chips. This was a bold and innovative move cos the rest of us just put salt and vinegar like, and it shows what a strong-willed and creative genius he was. Also the mayo cooled the chips, just as Ian's soul was a firey torment of turmoil and terror so he needed this soothing balm as anatoraxia, yet paradoxically it was white and cold like the barren emptiness he felt within. It was this ying and yang - yearning for Plathian passion but ricocheting against Bergmanian barriers - that created Curtis the artist but destroyed Ian the human being. Then he went home and bonked this Belgian journo he fancied.'
