Apparently out 17th Feb.Andrew Weatherall's brother Ian has done a cover of In A Lonely Place in tribute to his brother and also their dad who also died last year.17th Feb is first anniversary of Andrew's death. Also a remix by David Holmes. edit: oh, just realised you can listen now on Soundcloud via the link in the tweet.Going in now....

Agree. Really enjoyed all those remixes. Some of the best remixes I’ve heard of new order. Andy Weatherall would have been proud of them. Edited by user 18 February 2021 10:20:40(UTC)

Thanks for those links Linus. Yep, liking all of those, great dubby vibe on all.Really like the 13 minute Keith Tenniswood one and the Hardway Bros Axis Dub.Will definitely play all of them again.

Sorry, but these are terrible. The distorted vocals, and beats don't match at all. Much like the terrible mixes of 'age of consent'. Glad i didn't waste money trying to buy these, very disappointing. I hope new order stops releasing their music to djs to destroy the legacy they had. It was one thing in the 90s, but this is 20 years later, you think they would have learned. for comparison, check out the biff and memphis touched by the hand of god from the best of:

I thought this was just a cover version (along with remixes of that cover), isn't it? I don't think the band's music appears in it, does it? Or have I misunderstood completely?

Yes it’s a cover version, not a remix! And there’s remixes of the cover version. I’m kind of enjoying them for what they are- dubby tunes and I like a bit of dub now and then, with just the vague hint of IALP here and there. Though the David Holmes one has the full lyrics sung by someone ( the only track of the four to feature the full lyrics).

Bought the EP earlier today, I really like it and its respectful (if thats the right word) of the original while doing something different and without pissing all over it like the James Blake and George Michael cover versions of JD/NO did.

Agreed. Respectful but a different kind of take. Have also bought and downloaded the EP from Beatport just now.

Thanks for clearing that up, I presumed it was a remix due to the people involved. Listening again it is clearly a cover. Personally I really like it, the melodica always lends itself towards dub anyway. Going to buy it later on tonight after a few glasses of wine, always make buying more pleasurable / easier
